Bill 14 — The Power Corporation Amendment Act, 2025

Amends The Power Corporation Act to raise the corporation's borrowing limit and expand its power to finance related entities and projects.

  • Confirms the corporation and its wholly owned subsidiaries act as agents of the Crown without needing to name the Crown in contracts
  • Declares all property, money and profits of the corporation and its subsidiaries are Crown property exempt from taxation
  • Allows the corporation to make loans, advances and guarantees to entities it controls, on terms it considers desirable
  • Allows the corporation, on direction of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, to also finance other entities involved in power generation facilities or related projects in Saskatchewan
  • Raises the corporation's borrowing limit from $10,000,000,000 to $14,000,000,000
  • Takes effect immediately upon receiving assent
