Amends The Saskatchewan Firearms Act to add inspection powers, medical reporting rules, firearm safety instructor designation, and compensation rules for firearms seized by federal law.
- Allows firearms officers to inspect shooting clubs and ranges, including opening containers and copying records
- Makes it an offence to obstruct or hinder a firearms inspection
- Lets medical professionals report to authorities if a firearm licence holder has a dangerous medical condition
- Protects medical professionals from lawsuits for good-faith reports and keeps reports confidential
- Requires firearm safety instructors to be designated by the chief firearms officer, with penalties for unauthorized instruction
- Deems a firearm seized if federal law removes an owner's right to own, possess or transfer it, triggering a federal compensation duty within 12 months
- Lets the commissioner store, test, and arrange destruction or deactivation of firearms once compensation is paid
