Requires Saskatchewan's government to create a provincial strategy for preventing and managing wildfires.

  • Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety must establish a provincial wildfire management strategy
  • Ministry must provide public guidelines to raise awareness and knowledge about wildfires
  • Ministry must publish existing statistics on wildfire actions and risk factors
  • Ministry must promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across sectors and jurisdictions
  • Ministry must define best practices for preventing and fighting wildfires
  • Within 180 days, and yearly after, ministry must consult First Nations, Métis and municipal governments in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada, and wildfire experts
  • Ministry must report yearly on its progress on the wildfire strategy
