Bill 610 — The Provincial Health Authority (ER Virtual Physician right-to-know) Amendment Act

Requires the Minister to publicly disclose online when a hospital emergency room only has virtual physician services and no in-person physician available.

  • Amends The Provincial Health Authority Act with a new section 7-6.1
  • Minister must publish this information via website or other electronic means
  • Notice must go out within one hour of the health authority approving virtual physician use
  • Ministry must use existing resources to cover any related costs
  • Expenses for publicizing this information cannot be paid from the General Revenue Fund
  • Takes effect immediately upon Assent
