Amends Saskatchewan's freedom of information law to require disclosure of public interest information and strengthen the process for appealing and enforcing information commissioner recommendations.
- Allows officials to waive or reduce information request fees if the applicant cannot afford them or the record is in the public interest
- Creates a new duty to disclose, without delay, information about risks of significant harm to environment, health or safety
- Requires disclosure of any other information that is clearly in the public interest, overriding other exemptions in the Act
- Requires notice to affected third parties and the commissioner before such public interest disclosures, when practicable
- Removes solicitor-client and other legal privilege protections when the commissioner requests records
- Gives heads of public bodies 10 days to respond in writing to commissioner recommendations, or be deemed to agree
- Lets the commissioner file enforceable court orders when a public body fails to comply with recommendations
